What the Corps Calls Leading Marines Others Call Agility

Look. I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record but for the 1,001st time.

What the Corps calls leading Marines, others call agility.

I talk about it here when I compare discipline to agility. And here where I share the Marine Corps’ method of decentralizing leadership. I even talked about it nearly a decade ago here when I gave a recap of David Freedman’s book Corps Business.

But something was always missing, and after 15 years, and I’ve finally figured out what. I won’t ruin the surprise though. Instead, check out my talk below hosted by the great folks at Scrum Masters of the Universe.

And since none of us don’t want to suffer through 60 minutes of me speaking, I’ve timestamped and linked various sections of this talk. Click on the parts that interest you most, and it’ll take you directly to that portion of the conversation.

Special thanks goes to Anu for all her support and also to the awesome and humble Maarten Dalmijn who braved early versions of this talk to point out where it landed and also where it needed work. Go read his book. You’ll thank me later.
